Payment via Bank Account
You can receive your payments via bank account, which is probably the most convenient payment method and fastest way to receive your grant. It is important to note that the bank details or cellular phone number provided for payment MUST be registered in the name of the approved applicant used in the Covid-19 R350 grant application process. This will ensure that your payment goes to the correct recipient.
If you don’t have any banking details, individuals can collect their grant cash from the Post Office branches (SAPO/Post Bank), Pick-N-Pay stores, or a Bank Mobile Money Transfer. You will only be able to collect the grant money once you have received a notification SMS confirmation to say there has been confirmation of payment. Why my SASSA Status is Pending?
SASSA is currently in the process of distributing the new cycle of the special COVID-19 SRD grant. Unfortunately, many people are finding that their SASSA status online says “pending.”
This means that they are not yet able to receive the R350 grant. However, SASSA has recently released a message saying that payments for the new cycle will start being made in mid-June.
They will continue to clear out outstanding payments from the previous cycle as and when bank details are confirmed. In other words, you may receive more than one payment in a month, but no one will receive double payments in amount. SASSA will do these multiple payments until the backlog is finalized, after which monthly payments will resume.
